Brewer-Clifton started life back in 1996 by Steve Clifton and Greg Brewer. Greg is a lean, hyperactive former competitive cyclist and Steve seems much more like a surfer than an oenologist with a far more laid back approach. They bang on a lot about their unique location not to mention their huge respect for nature, the essence of their vineyards, the unique climate of the Santa Rita Hills making it suitable for the high intensity, high acidity wines it produces from both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Their mission is to present wines that convey the characteristics inherent to each of their vineyard sites, with uncompromising quality.

All vineyards are located within 8 miles of the winery and all grapes are harvested in the cool, early morning, arriving at the winery by 8 in the morning. This bottling is comprised of 100% estate pinot noir from four vineyards within the AVA. 3D, Machado, Acin and Hapgood all contribute to the wine which exhibits a drive, richness and pedigree expressive of our special growing area coupled with the purity of fruit and firm structure which have been the trademark of Brewer – Clifton. 

Tasting Note:
There's a purity of fruit that shines through even thought this is just an STA appellation wine. Using a high portion of stems allows structure, earthy tones and freshness.
Bright red fruit aromas of blood orange, pomegranate, raspberry and strawberry pair with damp sage, pine oil and white tea on the nose. The pristine palate's crisp pomegranate and fresh raspberry flavours are instantly cut flavours of spice, dried fig, and white truffle. Complex, savoury and fruity, with an elegant touch and a long pleasant finish make this wine 1 in a million.
