The Chalmers family's commitment to innovation and excellence has made them a pivotal force in the Australian wine scene for almost 30 years. Through their nursery, vineyards and wine brands, Chalmers encourages viticultural diversity and smart site to variety matching as they work to sustainably grow and authentically craft the regional Australian wines of the future.

This vineyard was established in 2017 and managed organically with no herbicides or pesticides used and hand pruned, hand harvested and even manually weeded throughout. In the extreme hot climate each vine is grown into a bush vine enabling it to provide its own shade and protection from the harsh sun. Each is spaced circa 2.5 metres apart enabling them to retain maximum amounts of water which it needs throughout the season. Hailing from the west of Sicily, Inzolia is considered one of the most important ancient Mediterranean (warm climate) white grape varieties and was a natural and appropriate choice for bush vine planting. It’s sturdy makeup, drought tolerance, plump berries and thick firm skins all positive qualities for the site conditions.

Tasting Note:
This highly attractive fresh and pure wine opens up with a notable intensity of character with fragrant and perfectly ripened peaches onto exotic fruit such as figs, quince and ripe stone fruit. Both yellow and orange blossom combining with preserved lemon aid in lifting the wine complimented with delicate wild herbs, fennel seed and salt bush. The savoury elements of brioche and biscuit confirm lees aging from 8 months worth of contact. On the palate the same intensity and density of fruit shines through with structure and texture and a long detailed finish. What wonderful detailed, precise and persistent wine which drinks beautifully now but given the texture and concentration, showing potential for ageing for some time if desired.

This is a Dry, Medium bodied wine with High acidity and No tannin. It is Pronounced in it's intensity with High alcohol and a Medium+ finish.
