Chateau Teyssier has a long history of production in Bordeaux dating back to 1714 and is currently one of the largest selling Saint Emilion Grand Crus. Their wines are generally made to high standards using the same equipment and methods that are used for their entry levels and all the way up to the top end single vineyard wines.

Currently, 10 different wines are produced at the property, owned by Jonathan Maltus who caught the wine bug after selling his engineering company in 1991. Teyssier was bought in 1994 and one of the first moves Jonathan Maltus made was to bring in the highly regarded Gilles Pauquet as his consultant. At that time of the original purchase, the Bordeaux vineyards consisted of 5.5 hectares in the Vignonet sector of St. Emilion, Jonathan has now increased the size of the Teyssier vineyard almost ten times so today the vineyards are now over 50 ha.

The vinification vats were changed from traditional, large cement vats to temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks. Everything is state of the art at Chateau Teyssier today, and to prove this, in 2012, they even began using optical sorting machines.

Tasting Note:
It has a lovely nose, expressive, pure, bright and open, with perfumed red plums and a chalky freshness giving it a sense of purity and lift. A serious, broad and textural palate, rich and filled with spiced plum fruit, with a peppery energy through the middle. There is plenty of grip, velvety and tightly grained, and bright acidity as well.
Possibly one of the best wines Ch Teyssier has produced to date.

This is a Dry, Full bodied wine with High acidity and Medium+ tannin. It is Pronounced in it's intensity with High alcohol and a Medium+ finish.
