Pierre-Henri Gadais of Domaine de la Combe was lucky enough to be born into a Loire Valley winemaking family so its fair to say, wine is in his blood. Following his viticulture and oenology studies, Pierre-Henri complemented his qualifications by undertaking several winemaking stints through various vineyards of France such as Burgundy, Bordeaux and Sancerre, as well as a experience in Switzerland and Australia. He finally landed back at the family estate in 2016 where he took over the Domaine and began making wines under the Domaine de la Combe label.
Now he is focused on quality and enhancing the regional terroir, whilst working towards organic certification in late 2021. Saint-Fiacre is the only village embedded between the two rivers of Nantes, the Sèvre and the Maine, and the Domaine vineyards are virtually surrounded by the Sèvre River in a unique microclimate - steep, rocky slopes conducive to the cultivation of Muscadet (Melon B).

Tasting Note:
This wine is wild-fermented in stainless steel, with classic ageing on lees “sur lie” plus stirring for 14 months and 12 months more before release. This is a classic full bodied and concentrated style of Muscadet with trademark crisp, flinty notes and hints of lemon blossom, and oyster shell with fresh, zesty and savoury tones on the palate and hints of lemon pith and green apple along with the notable sur lie yeasty lees notes. The finish on this is wonderfully refreshing to make this an affordable, low-intervention wine in one of its finest, most refreshing forms!

This is a Dry, Medium bodied wine with High acidity and No tannin. It is Medium in it's intensity with Medium alcohol and a Medium+ finish.
