Established by Salvatore Pala in 1950, today, sixty years later Mario Pala represents the third generation of the family to run this famous estate. The winery is located in Serdiana, a small town some 20km from Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia. The vineyards of Azienda Agricola Pala are divided into five separate holdings according to their different terroirs. Pala specialises in Vermentino and Cannonau, combining a deep respect for tradition and their land with modern wine-making techniques to produce a stunning range of wines.

This wine is composed of a blend of Monica and Carignan. Monica is indigenous to the island of Sardinia and has a similar profile to Pinot Noir in terms of character and approach when drinking. Carignan is normally found in the south of France but has found a home here on the Island, and procuring some remarkable wines.

Tasting Note:
This is a wonderfully juicy red wine. Beautiful ruby red in colour with intense aroma of violets, morello cherries, plum and dried juniper. This palate is dry and soft with vibrant acidity and sweet red fruits. There is lots of joy here, and plenty of persistence.

This is a Dry, Medium bodied wine with Medium+ acidity and Medium tannin. It is Medium+ in it's intensity with High alcohol and a Medium finish.
