Founded 1974 Querciabella Giuseppe (Pepito) Castiglioni is one of the largest organic and biodynamic estates in Italy. Taking inspiration from the wines of Burgundy but using a 'Tuscan twist' the wines have cemented themselves as being amongst the best wines in Chianti. Today the estate totals more than 100 hectares of the vineyards and still manage to retain retain their commitment to creating extraordinary wines, without causing harm or disrupting the delicate balance of nature.
Querciabella is a wonderful Chianti Classico representing just how good high-altitude and perfectly exposed Sangiovese is when sourced from great vineyards such as Greve, Radda and Gaiole in Chianti, regularly regarded as three of the denomination’s best sub-zones.
Tasting Note:
The 2020 Chianti Classico is a very appealing Chianti Classico. Suave, aromatic and gracious with more finesse than power and classic in style. This wine is medium bodied and fresh with bright red cranberry and cherry fruit characters intermingled with dried herbs, savoury earth, tobacco, balsamic and spicy cedar notes on the finish.
This is a Dry, Medium+ bodied wine with High acidity and High tannin. It is Medium in it's intensity with High alcohol and a Long finish.
