Located about 250km north of Cape town on the west coast of South Africa, Cederberg Private Cellar is a lone producer nestled inside the ward of Cederberg in the Western Cape. It's unique in that it doesn't fit inside any other region or district, and Cederberg Estate is the sole occupier of this ward. Historically others have tried, (and failed) to make wine here but as viticultural work in this hostile and arid region is nigh on impossible, only the Nieuwoudt family have stayed the course. They are also lucky to have the distinction of being the highest altitude vineyard in the Western Cape, enjoying this rare high altitude terroir to produce fine and well poised cool-climate wines.

These 'wines of altitude and attitude' are crafted by owner and winemaker David Nieuwoudt, offering great value and a more elegant and fine-boned example of South African Chenin Blanc. From a cool site found at the foot of Sneeuberg Mountain, this Chenin Blanc is picked in the early morning, fermented cool and aged on lees for four months with regular stirring before bottling.

Tasting Note:
This Chenin blanc shows true purity of character with layers of fruit such as white pear, melon, grapefruit and green apple leading to a refreshingly crisp & mineral palate. Four months lees contact ensured a mouth coating creaminess on the palate with a lively fresh acidity to finish off.
