Located in Mâconnais, southern Burgundy, Château-Fuissé was founded in 1862 and remains in the hands of Famille Vincent, and Antoine (fifth generation), has been the winemaker and General Manager since 2003. The family’s 40 hectares of vineyards are draped across some of the best terroirs of southern Burgundy and Beaujolais. The climate down here is more moderately continental, with cold winters and warm summers that gently ripens the Chardonnay. Their land is farmed with sustainable practices and respect to nature. whilst focusing on producing grapes that best express the environment with a balance between natural ripeness, concentration and mineral freshness. 

Château de Fuissé has always been the leader in Pouilly-Fuissé and indeed many vintages are more like the expensive whites from further north in Meursault and Chassagne. A sublime Chardonnay, complex and full flavoured and marked with the Château's renowned minerality. This is easily one of the most keenly priced fine Burgundies, albeit from the Mâconnais, being made from the appellation today.

Tasting Note:
Just as with the 2020, this is a wine with classic definition coming through in a deep yellow colour, and showing loads of citrus fruit characters, ripe apple, yellow peach, nectarines with smoked hazelnuts, almonds and light smokiness and honeysuckle aromatics adding lift and perfume.
The oak is well integrated and with creamy palate texture with delicate oak usage to aid in building complexity and mouthfeel. Finishes long and savoury.
