After decades on the side lines, it's finally game on for
Hungary's dry whites.

Disznoko is the biggest domain in Tokaj (and most respected), with vineyards spanning over 100ha's in north-west Hungary, on the Slovakian border. It was purchased by Axa Millésimes in 1993 and they completely restored it to its former glory. A brand new winery was built in 1995, completely decked out with the latest and greatest technological innovations, and equipment.

ix white grape varieties in Tokaj: Fürmint, Zeta, Harslevelu, Muscat Jaune, Köverszölö and Kabar. This relatively new style is a welcome addition to the Disznóko family highlighting the versatility, individuality and sheer quality of Tokaj's signature grape variety.

Fruit is drawn from several plots of the Disznóko vineyard (on volcanic/clay soils), specifically destined for their dry Furmint. It was hand-harvested with special care to remove any botrytised berries, and the wine was vinified in tank only.

Tasting Note:
In contrast to Disznóko's customary opulent style, this is all about purity and zesty freshness, with the aim to capture the vibrant juiciness and minerality natural to this unique grape variety. With Bosq pear, grapefruit pith, ripe apple-skin aromas and flavours and a zesty, racy dryness, there's something akin to a vibrant, quality Chablis (crossed with an earthy Riesling) going on here, especially in its flinty, salty close. This is a rare find indeed.

This is a Dry, Medium bodied wine with High acidity and No tannin. It is Medium in it's intensity with Medium alcohol and a Medium+ finish.
