Ingrid Groiss grew up in her grandmother's vineyard in the small village of Breitenwaida in the Weinviertel region north of Vienna. After starting her professional life in marketing, Ingrid returned to her home town to pursue her love of wine from her home region. Whilst garnering valuable experience at well-known producers Domäne Wachau, Birgit Braunstein and Birgit Eichinger, Ingrid was assistant winemaker to her father for their family wines.
In 2010, she challenged her father to a blind taste-off of their individual wines to see who would lead the family label on. A changing of the guard occurred and the Ingrid's skills have propelled the label to a new standard of quality.
Tasting Note:
Fresh, crunchy and mineral-driven - this is a beautifully-balanced Gruner Veltliner from Ingrid Groiss. A slender, peppery wine with a generous texture thanks to some time on lees before bottling, and 8 hours of gentle skin contact. Green apple and and citrus notes aplenty, and crunchy saline finish awaits. A perfect introduction to Austria's most famous white variety.
This is a Dry, Medium- bodied wine with High acidity and No tannin. It is Medium in it's intensity with Medium alcohol and a Medium finish.
