Luigi Baudana is one of the smallest active wineries in Serralunga d’Alba and with only 2.6ha in some of the prime crus of the village, and its completely fair to say this can rightly be considered a true garagiste producer. Amazingly, the history of this cantina is completely lost in time as the name ‘Baudana’ is the name of the family, the vineyard and even the tiny hamlet on top of the hill, and the Baudanas have belonged to this place so long that Luigi and Fiorina don’t have records of when the family first settled, nor any knowledge of how the name passed on to the cru.
Todays modern legacy began in 2009 when Luigi Baudana entrusted the Vajras with his vines in Serralunga d’Alba. For the Vajras, it was a dream come true; Aldo had always loved Barolo from the Helvetian soils of the area and felt honoured to have the chance to better understand and work this land. With their love of a challenge, the Vaira family jumped at the chance to start a new adventure - both Cerretta and Baudana rival the very best single-cru Barolo of the region making them well worth seeking out.

This is a Dry, Medium+ bodied wine with High acidity and High tannin. It is Medium+ in it's intensity with High alcohol and a Medium+ finish.
