Georg Fromm and Hätsch Kalberer met in the late 1980s and decided to create Fromm Winery in Marlborough, NZ. The first vines were planted under the guidance of Georg but it was years later (in 1992), after the talking became planning, and the planning became planting, Fromm Winery officially started with its very first harvest. Since then Fromm Winery has built an international reputation by producing an array of outstanding wines that reflect both European style and Kiwi ingenuity.
Georg Fromm returned to his family winery in Malans, Switzerland in 2008, but the winemaking team continues to make wines that truly show the expression of their environment. Ranging from elegant Pinot Noir to Syrah co-fermented with Viognier, high quality Chardonnay and rather uniquely, they can proudly claim that they boast the oldest single vineyard Malbec in New Zealand. Today the passion for wine continues but under the careful eye of family friend and owner Pol Lenzinger, co-owner Stephan Walliser and Swiss business partner George Walliser.
Tasting Note:
A complex Chardonnay with multiple layers of ripe fruit and richness, along with a chalky minerality on the nose. The palate combines full weight and balanced acidity with a tight yet generous structure. This is followed by a long lingering pithy citrus finish with hints of savouriness.
This is a Dry, Full bodied wine with High acidity and No tannin. It is Medium+ in it's intensity with Medium alcohol and a Medium+ finish.
We aim to dispatch all orders as soon as possible and during regular business hours. Orders received on weekends & public holidays will be dispatched on the next available business day. We do not ship to PO Boxes.
VIC/NSW/QLD/TAS/SA: Flat rate of $15 on orders below $250.
We do not ship to WA or NT. If you require shipping to either of these states please get in touch.
Orders below $50 will incur a $10 postage and handling fee.
