Abrie Beeslaar, winemaker at esteemed Stellenbosch property Kanonkop, now has his own label named Beeslaar. Beeslaar Wines is a small family-run business, specialising in the production of handcrafted, high-end Pinotage wines, originating from a single-vineyard site in the heart of Simonsberg, outside Stellenbosch. 

In 2011, his dream of making a truly unique Pinotage from a site-specific vineyard, was realised when he was offered the opportunity to work with grapes from a unique parcel of land in the Simonsberg outside Stellenbosch, and Beeslaar Wines was born.

Jamie Goode explained the Beeslaar Pinotage as being "one of the most profound interpretations of the often tricky Pinotage grape that you can imagine. It’s the Grand Cru Burgundy of Pinotages: structured, fresh, complex, age worthy and elegant, despite its obvious concentration.

Tasting Note: (From the Winery):
Concentrated aromas of black cherries, Christmas cake, wild strawberries, plums and cinnamon spice. Typical Beeslaar perfumed character, with an underlying earthy tone. Beautifully poised and elegant, with fine tannins to support the broad, plush fruit spectrum. Mouth-filling and effortlessly balanced, with lingering savory notes on the finish.
