There aren't many many wineries in the Yarra Valley with such a grand history like Yeringberg. The pioneering de Pury family have been farming in the Yarra Valley since 1863 although the original vineyard was ripped out in 1921 when the demand for Australian wine slowed and production ceased. Guill & Katherine de Pury decided to replant the vineyard in 1969, gradually starting to rebuild the reputation of this historic estate and today it is helmed by Sandra de Pury, becoming the fourth-generation winemaker at Yeringberg with a focus on small-batch, handcrafted wines that reflect the history and charm of the brilliant estate of Yeringberg. 

The fruit for this wine is picked at two stages, the first giving freshness, spice and vital acidity, the second and later pick bringing the generosity of flavour and the weight to the wine. The fruit is fermented with wild yeast in barrel and the wine is left to rest for a couple of years prior to release.

Tasting Note:
This is a Viognier that hits all the right notes with its exotic fruit character and perfumed opulence. The 2018 is immediately inviting, full of rich, ripe stone fruits such as apricot and nectarine, and mango and orange blossom aromas that are beautifully framed by delicate blossom florals, hints of spice, candied ginger and musk aromas. The palate is just as generous with the same flavours following through and a surprisingly delicate acidity which keeps everything fresh and lively. Well crafted and possibly one of the better examples found outside of Condrieu. 

This is a Dry, Medium+ bodied wine with Medium+ acidity and No tannin. It is Pronounced in it's intensity with High alcohol and a Long finish.
